    Throughout the Spring, Summer and Autumn of 2019 we have been renovating and preparing the ateliers, ready for our exciting programme, beginning in 2020.

    Our Creative Hub is for Hire

    Printing, Ceramics, Gallery, Rehearsal and Studio Space.

    You will be able to hire our space to run your own exhibitions, workshops and courses or just to give yourself time and space to explore and develop your own practice.

    Basic accommodation is available too and pricing is flexible, depending on your circumstances. Available from June 2020. Please contact us for more details.

    Artists' and Writers' Residencies

    Develop and refine your practice in our creative hub in France

    We offer residencies to emerging makers and writers in our Cornwall UK studio and from April 2020 in our creative hub in France. We typically offer a two-week residency with free access to resources and optional accommodation.

    We offer studio hire holidays to practising artists. Studios have 24 hour access and basic residential facilities included.

    Holiday Accommodation

    Comfort and Luxury in a newly-refurbished accommodation

    We offer holiday accommodation from 2020, where you can opt to join in with our paid courses, or just enjoy the creative community atmosphere and eat in the cafe if you wish.

    Our accommodation is furnished by bespoke makers, in natural materials. The furniture is upcycled and re- upholstered in handmade Burel from the Portugese mountains.

    We can accommodate up to 20 people, and offer an uncluttered and open plan space, suitable for families, and for those seeking a calm retreat.

     

     

    Explore the area around The Ministry, with the Tapestry and Textile Unesco Heritage Town of Aubusson close by, and the City of Clermont Ferrand, with it's designer shops, vintage tearooms, galleries, Ecole Des Beaux Artes, and World Class Tapestry Museum, just a one hour drive away. A leisure lake for swimming and fishing is just 5 minutes away from the Ministry of Making Ateliers.

    You can take a day trip to Rochechouart Chateau Contemporary Art Museum, or the Paul Reybeyrolle Foundation in nearby Limousin, and Limoges ( a two hour day-trip away) is known as the city of Earth and Fire, being famous for it's medieval and renaissance enamel, and porcelain production.

    Delish Soul Food Cafe

    Delicious healthy, local and Organic food.

    The cafe is open to support special events. We have a range of superb vegetarian and vegan cuisine-and we also cater for our meat eating friends by arrangement.

    Meat is cooked separately from Vegan and vegetarian food.

    We have a monthly Pop-Up Gallery, themed film nights with an introductory talk, salon du chat- (a philosophy and debate group), meditation groups on Sunday evening and Saturday afternoon knit club.

    Creative Clubs & Courses

    Join a community of local makers for craft and chat.

    We host a range of creative clubs for locals and guests. Favourites include our Print Club and our Knitting, Spinning, Dyeing and Feltmaking Club and the Pop-Up Atelier at La Ramade Leisure Lake in summer 2020. All clubs are suitable for beginners (tuition is offered) and more experienced makers.

    We offer a range of specialist arts and crafts courses between April to October, many of which cater for beginners and the creatively curious, as well as more established practitioners.

    Mobile Workshop/Gallery

    If you can't get to us, we can easily come to you!

    We offer a mobile workshop and gallery facility, and can design bespoke arts workshops that can travel to your own school, community and venues local to you.

    Other Offers

    As a company, The Ministry of Making produce and present work that is relevant in the contemporary landscape, whilst also offering access level courses to those who have no previous experience in the arts.

    We offer residencies to emerging and mid career artists, who, in turn, offer taster sessions to our local community and to our visitors.

    We create a conduit between young and emerging graduates and artists who need space and time to develop their work in a low cost environment, our local creative communities, and visitors who would like to learn creative skills.

    We run a Pop-Up Gallery, showcasing Contemporary Craft, Painting, Print-making and Installation, with “meet the artist” sessions.

    We offer peer to peer critique sessions to our visiting resident artists and to local artists through soiree preview sessions at the cafe and `Pop-up gallery previews”.

    We offer workshop resources and studio space for ceramics, textiles, fine art printmaking and painting, to local and visiting artists. These resources are available to you for hire on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

    We offer environmental arts and family arts for the local community, and for visitors to the area.

    We offer rehearsal space and rehearsal packages for theatre, dance , circus and performance groups.
